Model 40010

I cannot get the correct time for CST time. it keeps coming up at PM when it actualy is am. I would like a a manual so I can get this to work. Have tried unplugging and starting over. Does not work. Please respond asap. Thanks.

 

MODEL 40010:  This is the information in the manual.  It seems like you Time Zone may be incorrect.

TIME ZONE: Please select the proper Time Zone with the button on the top of the clock. There are 4 Time Zones available: Pacific, Mountain, Central and Eastern.

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME:  ON is the default position. If your area does not observe DST changes, then press and release the DST button on the top of the clock, the press the PLUS button to turn DST off.

            D1:             Correct for 2007 DST changes.

            Don:             + 1 hour manually.

            Dof:            0/-1 hour manually.

TIME/DATE: Auto set when you plug the clock in!

INSTA-SET TIME IS INCORRECT:

First check that your Time Zone and DST settings are correct.  If the time is still wrong you can manually set the Time and Date:

  • HOUR: Press and hold the DST button for 7 seconds until the Hour digit flashes. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to set the Hour. Press and release the DST button to move to the Minutes.
  • MINUTES: The Minutes will be flashing. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to set the Minutes. Press and release the DST button to move to the Month.
  • MONTH:The Month will be flashing. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to set the Month. Press and release the DST button to move to the Date.
  • DATE: TheDate will be flashing. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to set the Date. Press and release the DST button to move to the Year.
  • YEAR: The Year will be flashing. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to set the Year. Press and release the DST button to secure the setting in the memory.

NO TIME DISPLAYED WHEN PLUGGED INTO AC POWER:

If the display is blank when plugged into the AC outlet, open the button cell battery compartment and press the RESET button inside.

If that does not work, unplug from AC power and remove the Insta-Set battery (lithium button cell), then plug into AC power again and manually set the Time and Date.

  • YEAR: The Year will be flashing. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to set the Year. Press and release the DST button.
  • MONTH:The Month will be flashing. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to set the Month. Press and release the DST button to move to the Date.
  • DATE: TheDate will be flashing. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to set the Date. Press and release the DST button to move to the Year.
  • HOUR: Press and hold the DST button for 7 seconds until the 12:00 flashes. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to set the Hour. Press and release the DST button to move to the Minutes.
  • MINUTES: The Minutes will be flashing. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to set the Minutes. Press and release the DST button to move to the Month.
  • After completing the manual set for time and date, insert the Insta-Set button cell battery and the settings will automatically be stored in the clock.

AUTO DIMMER: The display brightness will dim as the room darkens.

DISPLAY DATE: Press and release the PLUS button to view the date briefly.  Press and release the MINUS button to display the year briefly.

INSTA-SET BATTERY REPLACEMENT:

Memory is kept with a 3-volt button cell battery CR2032. This battery should be changed every 2-3 years. When changing the battery, the AC power must be on or the 9-volt battery connected. 

The 3-volt CR2032 battery is found in the battery compartment under where the 9-volt back-up battery will sit.

ALARM SET:

  • HOUR: From normal display press the ALARM button once. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to set the Hour. Press and release the ALARM button once.
  • MINUTES: The Alarm Minutes will be flashing. Use the PLUS and MINUS buttons to set the Minutes.

ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE:  Use the slide button on the top to select Alarm On or Alarm Off. When the alarm is active you will see a small red dot in the lower right-hand corner of the display.

SNOOZE: When the alarms sounds press the SNOOZE button on the top of the display to activate the Snooze for 10 minutes.

BATTERY BACK-UP FOR ALARM:

Install one 9-volt back-up battery for the Alarm in the rear compartment of the clock. You can install this battery without disconnecting AC power. During a power outage the display will disappear but the alarm will still work.  The duration of the back-up battery is 12-hours.
